Shot during a road trip through Death Valley in the record-breaking summer of 2016, this image of my friend Sara was captured early in the morning, the only time the scorching tar road could be touched barefoot.

We stayed at Furnace Creek Desert Ranch, chasing light, heat, and freedom across the desert. This was one of those quiet, surreal moments. A still frame from a wild and unforgettable chapter. Soon after this photograph, the tar became too hot to walk on.

Captured digitally and now printed on canvas with care, this piece holds the dry heat, the vast silence, and the quiet poetry of open roads.
